Alias

An alias is a second domain name linked to an existing site.

If an Internet user has several domain names associated to the same web hostingaliasing them means that they will be equivalent to each other, so that by entering any of these domain names, they will all lead to the same website. For example, if a website address is “www.myaddress.ca”, it is possible to alias other addresses such as “www.myaddressABC.ca” and “www.myaddressDEF.ca” (even if they are at a different host), so that Internet users typing these last two addresses will end up at the web site “www.myaddress.ca”.

An alias will imperatively share the same root location on the server’s file system as its associated domain name.
