Bootstrap

This term has several meanings in computing.

With a capital B, Bootstrap refers to an open-source development environment primarily intended for designing mobile-friendly websites. The various design templates it contains are based on HTML and CSS, allowing users to quickly and easily design websites.

Bootstrap is also used to refer to the action of bootstrapping, i.e., the process of starting up a computer or program by loading a small initial program that then loads more complex elements (such as an operating system).
