Sidebar in WordPress

The sidebar (also known as the side column or widget area) is the area of a WordPress website that contains a navigation menu or additional information that is not part of the main article content.

It is usually found in the right-hand column, although some themes may offer multiple sidebars: they can therefore be found in the left-hand column, on either side of the main menu, below the main content, and even in the header and footer areas.
