An email alias is a forwarding address, meaning that all emails addressed to the alias, are forwarded to one or more specified accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Definitions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Alias<\/strong>: this is an email forwarding address in the form ALIAS@DOMAIN.EXT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forward to<\/strong>: this involves sending the email to one or more email addresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Standard<\/strong>: this is a type of redirection where the alias (ALIAS@DOMAIN.EXT) redirects to one or more email addresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Catch-All<\/strong>: this is a type of redirection where the general alias (@DOMAIN.EXT), encompassing all non-existent email accounts or aliases, redirects to one or more email addresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Save a copy<\/strong>: this indicates that if the alias is also an email account on your hosting, the email is sent to that email account in addition to being forwarded to one or more email addresses defined in the alias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Sidebar menu, select Messaging<\/b> -> Email Alias<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n

How to Create a Standard Email Alias<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Click on the Create<\/strong> button :<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

    1. In the Create an e-mail alias <\/strong>dialog box, select Standard <\/strong>from the CHOOSE A TYPE OF FORWARD<\/strong> drop-down list:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

      1. Enter the name of the FORWARDER<\/strong>, which must be in the form ALIAS@DOMAINE.EXT.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Indicate to whom the alias should be forwarded in FORWARD TO EMAIL ADDRESS<\/strong> (use the Add<\/strong> icon as many times as necessary).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. If necessary, choose Yes<\/strong> in the SAVE A COPY<\/strong> drop down list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Click on the CREATE<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. A message is displayed to confirm successful creation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
