As explained in the article How to Restore your Files and Your Databases<\/a>, N0C makes automatic backups of your customer account on a regular basis. However, the security and operation of your web site are closely linked to how well you manage your backups. So it is good practice to have your own backups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a plugin called Akeeba Backup for WordPress<\/strong> that can make this task easier and more efficient than ever. In this article, we will show you how to download and configure it to back up manually your WordPress CMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A paid version of Akeeba Backup<\/strong> lets you make a backup copy directly in N0C Storage. Another article will eventually be written on this subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This article does not explain how to restore a backup copy with Akeeba Kickstart. Another article will eventually be written on this subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Make a Manual Backup of WordPress With Akeeba Backup<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The following steps explain in detail the manual process for backing up WordPress with Akeeba Backup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Install the Akeeba Backup Plugin for WordPress<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Go to the Akeeba website to download the plugin and install it in WordPress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Enter the following address in your web browser: https:\/\/www.akeeba.com\/products\/akeeba-backup-wordpress.html<\/a> and download the plugin:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

    1. Click on Download Core v.8.3.0<\/strong>, (8.3.0<\/strong> being the latest version available at the time of writing).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Confirm that the .zip file is in your downloads:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

      1. Access your WordPress administration (please refer to the article How to use WordPress<\/a>, in the paragraph explaining how to set up the connection<\/a>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Click on Plugins<\/strong> -> Add New Plugin<\/strong> in the left-hand ribbon, then click on the Upload Plugin<\/strong> button and choose the file:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

        1. Choose the compressed file (.zip) in the directory (usually in the default downloads) and open it:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

                Configure Akeeba Backup for WordPress and Make a Backup Copy of the Site<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                Now that you have installed the plugin, it is time to configure it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                1. If Akeeba Backup <\/strong>does not appear in the left-hand menu, please refresh the page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                2. Select Akeeba Backup<\/strong> in the left-hand ribbon and click on the Configuration Wizard<\/strong> button:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

                  1. Confirm that the message Benchmarking in Progress<\/strong> is displayed:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

                    1. Wait until you can confirm that configuration is complete by displaying the message Finished Benchmarking<\/strong>:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

                      1. Still in Akeeba Backup, activate the backup copy by clicking on the Backup Now<\/strong> button:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

                              Download the Backup Copy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                              Once your WordPress site has been backed up, you can download it to your machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                      Manually Upload the .jpa File to N0C Storage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                                      The .jpa file containing your backup copy is now ready to be uploaded to N0C Storage. To do this from the MG panel, simply copy the .jpa file from the File Manager <\/strong>to N0C Storage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                      1. From your N0C management interface, go to Files<\/strong> -> Local file manager<\/strong> -> Public_html<\/strong> in the left-hand ribbon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
