How to Add and Erase Meta Tags in a Website

Introduction

The purpose of this article is to explain how to add meta tags to a page on your website. In the context we are dealing with here, a meta tag changes the title of a page seen by a robot only, without changing the title of the page seen by the user.

Note : Metadata are data that provide information on the nature of other data in order to facilitate understanding and management. The name of a file, its size, date of creation or modification are examples of metadata.

Prerequisite

Open the interface (how).

Note : Make sure the tool is configured in English (how).

Adding Meta Tags

  1. In the sidebar menu, select Pages -> All pages.
  2. Click on the Edit this item icon next to any page.
  3. Once in the Page Editor, click on the SEO Options button:
  1. The MetaTags window allows you to add all the meta tags of the page:
  1. Use the Pages drop-down list to select the page in which you want to add the meta tags.
  2. Add the meta tags in the appropriate fields.
  3. Click on the Save Meta button to update the meta tags of the page.
  4. Ideally, repeat the operation for each page.

Note: If the meta tag is not found for a particular page, the Global Meta tags are used.

Clearing Meta Tags

  1. To clear all meta tags from the current page, click on Clear Meta.
  2. For Global Meta, you must select Global Meta from the drop-down list and then click on Clear Meta.
